Jeanne Williams with her dog, camping at Elk Island National Park

Jeanne began working professionally with children in Denver, Colorado, where she worked primarily with inner-city children from low-income families who had experienced early childhood trauma.  She also worked closely with her clients’ parents, supporting them in providing for their children’s emotional needs.

Jeanne moved to Edmonton, Alberta in 2004, where she began work as an associate with Psymetry Psychological and Counselling, Inc.  In 2008, Jeanne began her own private practice, Jeanne L Williams Psychological Services.

Jeanne has taught psychology and counselling at the undergraduate and graduate level in both Edmonton and Denver as an adjunct instructor. Her courses include Theories of Personality, Integration of Counselling and Theology, Psychology and Christian Thought, Social Psychology, and Introduction to Counselling Skills.  She has also been part of the training team of the Alberta Children's Trauma Centre, presenting workshops  on childhood trauma to meet the needs of educators, foster care workers, social workers, and others who are in contact with traumatised children.

Jeanne enjoys teaching, and has led workshops for parents, foster parents, educators, and medical personnel throughout Alberta and the United States, and has also taught and worked with parents and professionals in Kingston, Jamaica.

Jeanne has an international background. She grew up in Hong Kong, and spent her teen years living in Gaza and attending school in Israel. She lived in Denver, Colorado for many years before moving to Edmonton. When she’s not working, Jeanne spends time volunteering in her community, watching her favourite sports teams, and enjoying Edmonton's many cultural events.
